When your own sibling lies to your face about school fees

So I got a call from my younger sister last night. She is in her third year at Uni of Abuja. She told me she got a partial scholarship and needed me to top up the rest for her fees. I was so proud of her, wallahi. I transferred the money from my savings that same night.

Fast forward to today. I called the school to confirm something about her results and the woman on the phone said, 'Madam, your sister has not been in school since January. She dropped out.' I nearly dropped my phone. I asked her again and she confirmed it. My sister used the money for something else entirely.

I am sitting here in my living room in Wuse trying to process it. I don't know whether to confront her or just let it be and protect our mother from the stress. This is the same girl I carried on my back when we were children in Kaduna. How do you look your own blood in the eye after this?
