United Nigeria Airlines lost N10bn in 3 months because of fuel price, still no relief for us
4 months ago
So United Nigeria Airlines don lose N10 billion in just 3 months because of this fuel wahala. Their CCO, Adedayo Olawuyi, talk am today that even though Strait of Hormuz don reopen and Brent crude drop to $72.50, aviation fuel here still cost between N1,600 and N1,700 per litre. Imagine, at the peak of the crisis fuel was N3,300 per litre but ticket prices never even go up by 100 percent.
He say the situation is not sustainable. The airline dey carry 120,000 to 130,000 passengers every month but bird strikes dey ground their planes too. In May, for four days straight, every single day dem suffer bird strike. One day the nose cone go, another day something enter the engine. Nine aircraft fleet but e no easy to keep dem flying.
So wetin this mean for us common passengers? The price of ticket still high. We are not feeling any relief. This economy sef. When will things ever balance for the common man?
