Unpopular opinion: Asaba people are Nigeria's most overrated when it comes to food

I finally visited Asaba last weekend for a friend's wedding. Everyone kept telling me, 'You must eat the pepper soup, e choke.' Bros, I ate the pepper soup. It was regular. The banga soup? Regular. The starch? Regular. I am not saying it was bad o, but the way people hype Asaba food you would think they discovered fire.

Meanwhile I can walk to any buka in Mushin and get pepper soup that will clear my sinuses for a week. Make it make sense. Is it because Asaba people have better PR? Or we just dey respect our elders too much to tell them the truth?
