Married men should not have close female friends outside work

I have been thinking about this one for a while. The way some married men in Abuja carry on with their "female friends" is just not it. You are married, you have a wife at home, and you are still chatting with a woman you used to know from university at 11pm on WhatsApp. Wallahi, I have seen this play out before.

From where I sit in HR, I have watched workplace friendships cross lines that should never be crossed. It starts with "she is just a friend" and ends with someone crying in my office. The policy says one thing about professional conduct, but the reality is that emotions do not follow policy.

I am not saying men cannot talk to women at all. But if you are married, keep it to work hours. Keep it in group settings. Your wife should not have to compete for your attention with a woman who is not her. Masha Allah, some of these men need to learn boundaries. What do you think?
