Schweinsteiger call our football 'wild' and 'unorthodox' , Ivory Coast coach don fire back

Omo, see matter wey dey happen for World Cup 2026. Ivory Coast coach Emerse Fae don slam former Germany player Bastian Schweinsteiger for wetin he call 'racist' remarks about African football. Before Germany beat Ivory Coast 2-1 for Toronto, Schweinsteiger don talk say Ivorians dey play 'African football' wey be 'a bit unorthodox, a bit wild, not quite as tactical'.

Now Fae wey be 42 years old, he say he used to admire Schweinsteiger so much say him friends dey call am 'Bastian'. But after hearing those words, he say he dey disappointed. Fae talk say, 'When you know football the way he knows it, it's odd that you would speak that way, which we could call racist if we were calling a spade a spade.'

Meanwhile Ivory Coast don still make history , Nicolas Pepe score two goals against Curacao and take dem to knockout stage for first time ever. So if our football be 'wild', why we dey qualify? Abi na because we no dey play like Europeans? I just dey wonder how many times African teams go hear this kind talk before people realise say different style no mean say e be inferior.
