State police don almost ready o, make we see wetin dey inside

My people, the state police bill wey dem don dey talk about since 2024 don reach final stage. Femi Gbajabiamila wey be Chief of Staff to President Tinubu say the constitutional amendment go come soon. Dem don dey consult with Executive, National Assembly and security people for months now.

This thing no be small matter o. The new law go repeal the old Police Act from 2004 and create state police for every state. The main reason na make police dey respond faster to local security problems. No more waiting for Abuja before dem move. But the man say e no be something you do with snap of fingers, plenty legal wahala dey involve.

My own worry na who go control these state police. If governor wey get personal vendetta start using police to harass opposition, wetin we go do? The bill still dey come, make we watch their movement well well. This one fit be blessing or curse depending on who dey hold the power.
