Court deregisters NDC, PDP says it's a plot to weaken opposition before 2027

So the Federal High Court in Lokoja has ordered INEC to deregister the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), and PDP is not happy about it. Their spokesman Comrade Ini Ememobong released a statement today saying this is a major setback for democracy and multiparty system in Nigeria. He said they are waiting for the Certified True Copy but already calling it an asphyxiation of multiparty democracy and an economic crime against Nigerians who invested in the party.

PDP is accusing the APC-led government of using the courts to clear the path for President's unchallenged re-election in 2027. They said this fits neatly into the playbook of a government that does not want genuine opposition to survive. Ememobong urged NDC to challenge the order and called on the Federal Government to reduce political tension in the country.

Honest question: if a court can just wipe out a political party like this, what is the point of our democracy? Who is next after NDC?
