Peter Obi is wrong about state police bill this time

So Tijani Mustapha, the media aide to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, fired back at Peter Obi yesterday over the State Police Bill. Mustapha said Obi clearly did not read the bill before opening his mouth to criticise it. He pointed out that the bill already makes provision for an independent State Police Service Commission, which is exactly the thing Obi was crying about.

Now I know many of you will jump to defend Obi because he is your messiah. But let's be real here. Obi said the process was hasty and there was no public hearing. But when has public hearing ever stopped nonsense in this country? The real issue is whether state governors will use the police to harass opposition. And the bill already addressed that with an independent commission. So what exactly is Obi's point?

Mustapha even dragged Obi for not knowing the meaning of KPI. That one was a low blow sha but it made me laugh. Be honest, are we just going to defend Obi even when he is clearly wrong on this one?
