Peter Obi is a rolling stone that cannot form a rock
4 months ago
I read this article yesterday from Ijeomah Arodiogbu and it got me thinking. The man said Peter Obi since leaving Anambra Government House has been moving nonstop but never built any lasting political structure. He called Obi a rolling stone that cannot form a rock. And honestly, looking at the evidence, I cannot even argue.
After his tenure as governor, Obi did not leave behind a robust organisation or network of loyalists in local institutions. No machinery that could win elections on its own. And the proof is in the pudding. In 2017 Anambra governorship, he backed Oseloka Obaze. In 2021, he backed Valentine Ozigbo. Both lost. Two consecutive failures in his home state where any serious politician should have maximum leverage. That is not bad luck. That is the absence of political infrastructure.
People keep saying Obi is different and the establishment is against him. But if you cannot deliver your own state after being governor there, what exactly are you building? Charisma without structure is just noise. Am I the only one that sees this pattern?
