So Peter Obi is now saying state police should be postponed until after the 2027 elections because he doesn’t trust this government not to use it to rig the next vote. He’s basically admitting that the bill was rushed through without public hearings, and nobody believes the current administration can resist the temptation to abuse it. If the people who are supposed to protect us can’t even be trusted with police power, what exactly are we building here?
