Nigerian parents and their WhatsApp status gospel music , I can't breathe

My mother has turned her WhatsApp status into a 24-hour gospel music channel. Every morning I wake up to 'Mercy Chinwo - Excess Love' on full blast. Then by afternoon she has switched to 'Sinach - Way Maker' like she is running a church broadcast. The worst part? She posts the same song three times with different backgrounds , one with flowers, one with a cross, one with a random sunset from Google.

I asked her why she does it. She said 'So that your generation will remember God.' I told her my generation remembers God fine, we just don't need a 6-minute video of a choir dancing to remind us every morning. She looked at me like I slapped her pastor.

Now my father has joined her. His status is just 'Good morning' with a picture of a lion. No song. No Bible verse. Just a lion. I think he is protesting her noise in his own way. Nigerian parents are a whole different species I swear.
