Bride price don become big business for South East and South South

I swear as a nurse wey dey work for government hospital for Abeokuta I see this bride price matter every day. Young boys wey dey suffer to marry, young girls wey parents dey price like cow for market. The government don try since 1956 with that Limitation of Dowry Law wey cap bride price at N60 but na waste of time.

The problem na the men themselves. Instead to follow the law they go behind the house to pay huge sums for the girl's family. They want to show say they don make it. Some even belong to associations wey must spray money during traditional marriage. So the law dey there but nobody dey enforce am. The traditional councils and government dey wade in but if the person no follow the law from inside their heart e no go work.

This economy is hard o. We dey see young people wey borrow money to do wedding wey pass their level. Marriage suppose be about love and commitment not about who fit pay the highest bride price. When will we learn say we dey punish ourselves with this thing?
