Atiku says Nigerians now seeing Tinubu's true colours over NDC deregistration

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has taken a fresh swipe at President Bola Tinubu over the move to deregister the opposition National Democratic Coalition (NDC). Atiku said Nigerians can now see Tinubu's true colours and that the deregistration bid exposes the President's intolerance of dissent.

Atiku stated on Saturday, June 27, that the NDC has been a critical voice holding the government accountable, and targeting it for deregistration is a sign of creeping authoritarianism. He asked, "Is this the democracy we fought for?"

The NDC deregistration process has been controversial, with many seeing it as an attempt to silence opposition ahead of the 2027 elections. What do you think — is Atiku right about Tinubu's true colours or is this just political gamesmanship?
