Boko Haram attacked students writing NECO this morning in Borno
4 months ago
Suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists abducted students at Government Day Secondary School in Lassa town, Askira Uba LGA of Borno State. The students were sitting for Biology in NECO when the insurgents attacked on Monday morning. Police spokesperson Daso Kenneth confirmed this to Premium Times via telephone.
Mr Kenneth said a combined effort by police, military, and Civilian JTF helped save some students, but an unknown number were abducted. He added that security personnel are currently combing the bush for possible rescue. Meanwhile NECO spokesperson Azeez Sani said the examination body was not aware and could not speak about it.
This is 2026 and we are still dealing with students being kidnapped during exams. How do we expect children to focus on their future when this is their reality? What is really going on with our security?
