US reveals 199 terrorists killed in Nigeria operation, largest electronic seizure since 9/11

The United States Counter Intelligence Chief has confirmed that a military operation in Nigeria killed 199 terrorists and resulted in the largest seizure of electronic materials since the September 11 attacks. This is not a small achievement but the question nobody is asking is where did these materials come from and who has been supplying them.

For years we have watched Boko Haram and other groups operate with sophisticated communication equipment while our security agencies claim to be overwhelmed. Now the US is telling us that a single operation uncovered electronic hardware on a scale not seen since 9/11. That means someone somewhere has been feeding these terrorists with the tools to coordinate attacks and evade capture. The US intelligence chief did not name any Nigerian officials but the implication is clear.

This raises a direct challenge to the Nigerian government and military leadership. If the US can track and seize this volume of materials in one operation what has been happening with our own intelligence efforts. Who in Nigeria is benefiting from the flow of these electronic supplies to terrorist groups. Until that question is answered no amount of killed terrorists will bring back the thousands of civilians we have lost.
