EFCC recovers N38.66 billion from NNPC refinery fraud , una go shock

EFCC don finally show work o. They recover over N9.4 billion and $21.2 million from this NNPC refinery maintenance fraud. That $21.2 million alone na about N29.26 billion using CBN rate, so total wey dem recover come be N38.66 billion. Plus landed properties wey dem also seize.

The investigation na about how billions of dollars wey dem release for Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries rehabilitation since 2021 to 2023 just disappear. Dem award contracts worth $2.79 billion to companies like Daewoo Engineering and Tecnimont SPA, but the refineries still dey moribund. No improvement at all. So EFCC say the funds dem divert, embezzle, and mismanage by NNPC officials and contractors.

This one na serious economic sabotage. When our refineries dey work, we no go dey import fuel and suffer long queues. But with all this money wey dem chop, we still dey buy fuel at high price.
