I caught my mother stealing from my savings for 10 years

I start saving money since I was 15. Every little kobo from helping my mother sell at the market. I hide it inside an old shoe under my bed. By the time I was 25 I had almost 200k saved. I was planning to use it for my own shop.

One day I come home early. I see my mother with the shoe in her hand. She was counting the money. I just stand there and watch her. She see me and she start crying. She say she been using the money to pay my younger brother's school fees. For 10 years. Every month she go take something.

I didn't shout. I just go to my room and close the door. I cried that night. Not because of the money. Because the person who was supposed to protect me was the one stealing from me. I still love her but I don't trust her the same way again.
