Chidimma Adetshina and SA don show us something about ourselves

I saw the news about Chidimma Adetshina facing deportation in South Africa over alleged illegal residency and I just had to laugh. Not at her situation sha, but at how this country will drag someone for leaving but also drag them for staying. We are the same people who will say 'Naija no dey work' and then turn around to call someone a betrayer for trying elsewhere.

The thing is, Chidimma is a Nigerian woman who dared to compete on a South African stage. Now they want to send her back. And our people are divided , some say she should have stayed home, others are defending her. But nobody is asking why she had to leave in the first place. Maybe if the system here worked, she wouldn't need to fight for space in another country.

Anyway, I just know if I was in her shoes, my own people would be the first to post 'See what happens when you leave your country' while also posting 'Japa is the way' on their own timeline. The math is not mathing.
