The Senate Leader says state police can’t wait any longer and that the bill has massive support across the country, but critics are still warning it could become a weapon for governors to silence opponents. If even the police themselves backed this bill during consultations, why are we still arguing about whether Nigeria is ripe for it? Is the fear of abuse worth more than the lives we keep losing to insecurity?
