Uba Sani says North will vote massively for Tinubu in 2027. Is he delusional or just playing politics?

Kaduna Governor Uba Sani went on Arise TV yesterday and said the North will give President Tinubu more votes in 2027 than in 2023. He called the argument that the 2027 election will be APC versus the Nigerian people the 'laziest argument' possible. According to him, Tinubu has done more for northern Nigeria than any leader before him, and he claims to have data and statistics to back this up.

Let me say this clearly: Uba Sani is a politician doing his job. He has to say these things because his political survival depends on Tinubu's victory. But telling northerners who cannot afford rice, whose children are out of school because of ASUU strikes, and whose local markets are empty that Tinubu has done more than any leader is a stretch too far. Irregular migration from the North is at an all-time high because people are literally running from hunger. You cannot tell me that a region experiencing this level of hardship is going to vote based on 'data and statistics' that only exist in a government spreadsheet.

I am not saying the North will vote against Tinubu. What I am saying is that Uba Sani's confidence is either blind loyalty or a calculated attempt to manage expectations. If Tinubu wins the North in 2027, it will be because of the same ethnic and religious calculations that have always driven northern voting patterns, not because of development projects that most people have not felt. Be honest, do you know any northerner who is better off today than they were in 2023? Let's argue this.
