Flood don catch my textbooks o, wetin I suppose do?

So heavy rain fall for Enugu yesterday night, e be like say heaven open. I dey my hostel, UNN, when water just enter my room like say e get appointment with my books. My Economics 301 textbook, the one I buy with my last 3,500 naira, don soak finish. Pages dey scatter like say I dey do sacrifice to the rain god.

I try to dry am with my pressing iron, but the heat just make am worse. Now the book look like something from 1990. My roommate, Chinedu, say make I use the pages to wrap akara. I no even laugh. That book na my life for this semester. The lecturer, Dr. Okonkwo, e no like excuses. If I come to class without the book, he go just say "Mr. Nnamdi, you don finish?" and give me that look wey make you feel like your great-grandfather is disappointed in you.

Now I dey think say maybe I should just photocopy my friend's book. But the photocopy shop for campus, dem go charge me 50 naira per page. The book get 400 pages. Na 20,000 naira. My feeding budget for two weeks. God when?
