Terrorists attack Benue community, governor orders manhunt

Governor Hyacinth Alia has condemned the attack on Saai community in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area that happened this morning. Terrorists masquerading as herdsmen stormed the area and gun down scores of people, leaving several others injured.

The governor's media aide Tersoo Kula released a statement calling it a senseless assault on innocent citizens. Governor Alia has directed security agencies to launch an immediate manhunt for the perpetrators and ensure they face the full wrath of the law.

The timing is particularly painful because farmers had just returned to their ancestral lands to cultivate crops, hoping for a good harvest. Now this. How many more communities must suffer before something changes?
