Hundreds of IDPs blocked a major highway in Makurdi because they know the game: donations come in, promises are made, but the money never reaches them. Audited accounts from 2018 to 2024 show millions in donor funds for displaced persons simply disappeared from official records, while budgets for IDP care were barely spent. If government financial reports can't even track a ₦200 million donation from a former governor, what makes anyone think ₦1 billion will be different?
