Abuja collected N172bn FAAC in 10 months but we still dey fear for our lives

So yesterday I saw this report that the FCT received N172.91 billion from FAAC between July 2025 and April 2026. The highest allocation was N23.21 billion in April 2026 alone. Meanwhile residents are still crying about kidnappings and insecurity every single day. One resident Ibrahim said it well: 'Imagine if the Federal Capital Territory is insecure, how would you expect other parts of the country to be secure?'

Another man Nasiru said he fears for his life every time he goes out. And we all remember that $460 million Abuja CCTV loan from years back that was supposed to install cameras to monitor crime. The Federal High Court even ordered disclosure of how that money was spent in 2023. But where are the cameras? Where is the security? The President was talking about solar streetlights on Monday like that will stop kidnappers.

N172 billion in 10 months and we still dey pay ransom. Make I hear your own. Am I the only one that thinks this money is not going where it should?
