Wanted Terrorist Kingpin Claims Security Forces Are His Informants — Audio Leaks
4 months ago
Kachalla Maha, the wanted terrorist kingpin accused of masterminding deadly attacks across Katsina State and linked to the killing of General Rabe Abubakar, has boasted in a leaked audio recording that members of the Nigerian security forces deployed against him are secretly working for him. In the recording, Maha tells a government-linked figure addressed as 'Comrade,' 'I swear to God Almighty, all the security forces being sent to attack my camp are my boys. They inform me anytime they are coming.'
During the conversation, the Comrade repeatedly appealed to Maha to stop the killings, but the terrorist leader threatened mass violence, vowing to 'go through all the villages around and capture and kill them all' if the government fails to meet his demands. He also alleged that security operatives are harassing civilians, destroying homes, and seizing livestock, justifying his attacks as retaliation. Maha further claimed he has informants embedded in communities and security structures, stating, 'You know very well that throughout this area we have our own informants. We don't just attack people without certainty.'
This audio exposes the depth of infiltration within our security apparatus. If a wanted terrorist can claim with confidence that officers sent to neutralize him are feeding him intelligence, then what is the point of any military operation? How do we trust a system where the hunters are hand-in-glove with the hunted?
