A Federal High Court has ordered the Nigeria Police to pay ₦200 million to the family of a truck driver shot dead by a sergeant in Osun State in 2021, and also directed that the officer be prosecuted immediately. The court ruled that the killing violated the man's constitutional right to life, yet the police had failed to take any action against their own officer.
