Gas dey bubble for Bille community since October, FG finally show face

Since October 2025 methane gas don dey bubble for rivers and swamps for Bille community for Rivers State. Now the drinking wells dey affected and people dey suffer. Federal Government delegation led by Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Senator Ekperike Ekpo finally visit on Wednesday July 1.

They carry relief materials and promise potable water, medical outreach, firefighting equipment and power supply. Governor Siminalayi Fubara also direct upgrade of primary healthcare center for emergency. NUPRC boss Mrs Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan say they engage international firm for final studies and fieldwork go start before end of July.

This one na proper environmental disaster wey government don take seriously. But I dey ask myself why e take them almost one year to come see wetin dey happen for ground.
