N8.83 Trillion Missing Under Tinubu — Obi Drops IMF Bombshell

Peter Obi has released a statement on his X account today exposing what he calls grand corruption under the Tinubu administration, and the figures are staggering. According to an IMF consultation report, N8.83 trillion in expenditure undertaken in 2025 was not captured in the budget at all. That is 35% of the entire capital budget of N23.96 trillion, more than the combined allocations for education (N3.52 trillion) and health (N2.38 trillion).

Obi said this money, if properly used, could transform public healthcare, create cottage industries, and provide jobs for thousands of graduates. But instead, it has disappeared without legislative oversight or administrative scrutiny. He called this a pattern of grand corruption that has become part of this administration, not an isolated incident. The former Anambra governor reiterated his call for Tinubu to resign, describing the APC-led government as grossly corrupt, incompetent, and insensitive.

So the question is simple: where is N8.83 trillion going when hospitals lack drugs, schools lack desks, and graduates cannot find work? The IMF report is public. The budget is public. The only thing missing is accountability. Who will demand answers from the President?
