N27.4bn bribery allegation: Step aside now Gbajabiamila
4 months ago
Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Tinubu, is being accused of demanding N27.4bn and collecting N400m through proxies to appoint one Adeniyi Adeyemi as DG of some fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) released a statement today Sunday asking him to voluntarily step aside pending an independent investigation.
The CDHR said this is not about presumption of guilt but about credibility and integrity of the process. They want to eliminate any perception of interference and reassure Nigerians that no public official is above the law. The Presidency has denied the allegation, saying Gbajabiamila does not write appointment letters.
So we are supposed to just move on like this? N400m already collected through a proxy, another N200m demanded, and the man is still sitting in his office today. Who is checking these people?
