Ghost agency with 1.3 billion naira budget — presidency says it doesn't exist

So the Presidency is claiming that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi and his so-called Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council are fake, a con artist operation. Bayo Onanuga and Femi Gbajabiamila have both issued statements disowning the man and the agency. But here is the problem — I went and checked the 2026 budget myself on the Budget Office website, and on pages 50 and 51, that exact agency has a total allocation of 1,302,978,784 billion naira. Over 800 million for personnel costs alone. How does a non-existent agency get budget lines in the official appropriation?

This is not a small matter. In October 2025, this same agency held a high-profile event at the Wells Carlton Hotel in Abuja, attended by diplomats from multiple foreign missions. Adeniyi Adeyemi was there talking about hosting 80 Heads of State for a World Investment Summit and attracting $5 trillion in FDI. The Guardian Nigeria covered it. So either the Presidency is lying about the agency not existing, or someone in the Budget Office quietly inserted a ghost agency into the 2026 budget and nobody noticed until now.

Adeniyi Adeyemi is asking President Tinubu to set up an independent investigation. He says if he is wrong, let the process prove it. But Onanuga says police have already investigated and filed a case at the Federal High Court, with a hearing set for 27 July 2026. So we have a budget allocation that contradicts the Presidency's denial, a man who says he has documents including a CBN account, and a court case pending. Who is hiding what here?
