17 million Nigerians starving and ADC says Tinubu created this disaster
4 months ago
The African Democratic Congress has dropped a heavy one on the Tinubu administration. ADC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi came out yesterday to say that over 17 million Nigerians across nine northern states are facing acute hunger according to a UN World Food Programme report. He called it a government-created humanitarian disaster caused by failed security policies and harsh economic decisions that have pushed food beyond reach.
In Borno alone over 3 million people are acutely food insecure. The combined figure for Borno, Adamawa and Yobe is 6.2 million. Abdullahi said these are not opposition figures but findings from the world's leading humanitarian agency. He also noted that over 60,000 ADC members have defected to APC in Kebbi which makes you wonder about the internal politics.
Three years of telling us the pain is temporary and now we have WFP confirming that insecurity is spreading and food inflation is worsening. When will the government stop treating hunger like it is just a talking point for the opposition?
