I was standing at Enugu main market yesterday, buying plantain, when my phone battery hit 15%. Now normally, this is just a number. But yesterday, it triggered something in me. I started calculating how many more transactions I could complete before the phone dies. The woman selling plantain is looking at me like I am mad because I am staring at my screen instead of her goods.

Look at it this way. We have become slaves to a battery percentage that determines our entire day. If your phone dies at the wrong moment, you miss your bus, you cannot pay for your goods, you cannot call your wife to say you are coming. Our people say a man who has no plan has planned to fail. But who plans for 15% battery? Nobody. We just walk around hoping the phone will survive until we get home.
