My sister's UNN fees taught me I was wrong about school

I have been telling anyone who cares to listen that the classroom is a waste of time. That the street teaches you faster. That my polytechnic dropout was the best decision I ever made. I believed this with my whole chest.

Then my younger sister, the one studying Accounting at UNN, sent me her results last week. First class. All As and Bs. And I sat down and asked myself who I was fooling.

I pay her fees from my phone business. Every semester I grumble about the money. But seeing that result sheet, I realized something. She is doing what I could not do. She is mastering something I ran away from. My hustle feeds us today but her degree will feed her children. I am proud of her but I am also ashamed of how I used to mock people who stayed in school. God is involved in her life in a way I am still learning to understand.
