My grandmother called me Chiamaka and said I'm wasting my potential

Mama called me yesterday. She calls my real name Chiamaka, nobody else does that. She said she saw my Instagram page where I'm dancing for brand deals and she asked me, Chiamaka, is this what you went to university for?

I laughed at first but then I couldn't sleep. The thing is, she doesn't know about the documentary I've been sitting on for 9 months. She doesn't know I'm scared. I send her money every month from these same brand deals and she thinks I'm just playing.

Maybe potential is not a scam after all. Maybe I'm the one running from it. 😭
