Dollar hitting 1,360 and my salary package just shrunk again

I was reviewing my salary breakdown this morning, the usual monthly ritual. And I just sat there staring at my payslip. The naira amount is the same but what it can do now compared to last year... wallahi, it is painful.

My HR brain immediately started calculating. My daughter's school fees went up again, the food budget is stretched thinner, and the househelp's salary I had to adjust because even she cannot manage on what we agreed last year. From where I sit in Abuja, the cost of living in the capital is not a joke. The policy says one thing about inflation, the reality on the ground says another.

I have seen this play out before in the parastatal. Salaries stay flat while the market runs. We just keep adjusting and managing. But some days I wonder, how long can we keep stretching the same naira before it tears?
