Kwankwaso blasts Presidency for mocking Peter Obi's safety fears

Rabiu Kwankwaso has called out the Presidency for what he describes as a troubling response to Peter Obi's security concerns. During an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Obi said he might not be alive to contest the next election and alleged that the Federal Government was targeting his businesses. Instead of taking his fears seriously, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu's aide, dismissed Obi's claims as lies and propaganda.

Kwankwaso's statement hits hard. He said democratic leadership requires fairness, justice, and restraint, and that a government should not mock credible calls for help. He is right. When an opposition leader says his life is in danger, the least you can do is investigate, not insult. This is not about Peter Obi alone. It is about whether we still have a democracy or just a system that bullies anyone who disagrees.
