When your mum's friend tries to 'help' with your brand deal

My mother's friend, Aunty Bose, heard I got my first proper brand deal and decided to 'assist' with the negotiation. The woman called the brand manager and told them I was too young to handle that kind of money. She said I needed 'guidance' and offered to be the middleman.

The brand manager, God bless him, called me to confirm. I nearly dropped my phone. Aunty Bose wanted 30% commission for 'introducing' me to a company I already had a relationship with. My own mother was asking me to let her handle it for 'family peace'.
