APC Is Holding El-Rufai Until After 2027 Elections — ADC Spokesman

The African Democratic Party has come out to say what many of us have been suspecting all along. Their National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, told Channels Television yesterday that the APC government is deliberately keeping Nasir El-Rufai in custody until after the 2027 elections. He said they are setting bail conditions that are almost impossible to meet, just to keep him locked up.

Abdullahi said the APC knows that if El-Rufai is free, the opposition becomes stronger and he will remind Nigerians of things the government would rather we forget. He also warned that if anything happens to El-Rufai due to his failing health — the family says the National Hospital advised he be kept under watch — President Tinubu will be held personally responsible. This is a man being held for bailable offences, yet they keep finding legal loopholes to keep him inside.

Now the question is: is this about justice or about silencing a political opponent? If the government has a case, let them prove it in court and stop playing games with a man's health. But if this is purely political detention, then we are watching democracy die slowly in this country. What do you people think is really going on here?
