Peter Obi's vehicle clamped: OK Movement exposes deeper CCTV failure at Abuja airport
4 months ago
The OK Movement has called out Festus Keyamo over his claim that Peter Obi's vehicle was unjustly clamped at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. The Minister of Aviation released a CCTV footage on Friday night showing the NDC candidate's car allegedly violating parking rules, and gave Obi seven days to apologise and pay a N25,000 fine.
But the group's South-West Coordinator, Dr. Adefolaseye Adebayo, has turned the tables. She asked the question that should bother every Nigerian: if the CCTV cameras at our international airport cannot clearly show faces or vehicle registration numbers, how do we identify terrorists or track criminals? She said Keyamo should rather apologise to Nigerians that after billions of naira spent on aviation, this is the best visual evidence he can present.
This is not about Peter Obi or his vehicle. It is about the fact that our security infrastructure is a joke and the government is using it to settle scores instead of fixing it. Am I the only one that thinks Keyamo is missing the point here?
