Davido is the people's champion and Burna Boy is just a Grammy with attitude

I was at a viewing centre yesterday for a fight and the DJ played Burna Boy back to back. Nobody danced. Nobody sang along. The moment he dropped a Davido track the place erupted like a generator coming back after 48 hours of darkness. This is not a coincidence my people.

Burna Boy has the awards but does he have the love? When Davido goes to a village in Osun state he carries the whole community on his back. When Burna Boy goes anywhere he carries his sunglasses and his 'I am bigger than Nigeria' energy. We see you. The man said Nigerians should stop complaining about hardship and work hard. Imagine telling a man who cannot afford garri to just hustle harder. That is not a king. That is a boss who forgot where he came from.

Davido gives back quietly. He pays school fees. He builds houses. He does not call a press conference for every good deed. That is the energy Nigeria needs. Who truly represents the streets in your opinion?
