Peter Obi asks Keyamo: Are you the law?
Peter Obi has finally replied Festus Keyamo over that airport parking drama and the response is heavy. Obi's media office through Zekeri Idris released a statement on Saturday accusing Keyamo of presenting a misleading account of the incident and alleging a pattern of political targeting. The whole thing started when Keyamo gave Obi an ultimatum to apologise to airport officials and pay a N25,000 fine over a wrongful parking incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
But Obi's camp is not backing down. They pointed out that the incident Keyamo posted is completely different from the one Obi narrated in his interview. In Obi's version, he was present. In Keyamo's tweet, Obi was not even there. They also questioned why other vehicles parked in the same area were not clamped, and why Keyamo would post CCTV footage of Obi's movements on his personal social media. They asked a very direct question: Are you the accuser, the investigator, the judge, and the executioner in the same matter?
This is bigger than a clamped vehicle. Obi's team is asking about equal treatment under the law, the security of opposition figures, and the neutrality of state institutions. They even referenced how former Edo State governor Adams Oshiomhole and Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal had airport incidents without similar official action. So why is Obi being targeted? If Keyamo is the Minister of Aviation, does that mean he is now the law? Nigerians deserve answers to these questions. Be honest, do you think this is political targeting or just standard enforcement?
