NBA election 2026 , ethno-tribal caucuses trying to hijack the bar

So Chidi Anselm Odinkalu don write this big article about the NBA election this year. The man say the NBA suppose be independent but now these ethno-tribal caucuses wey no even part of the constitution dey try to veto who become president. E mean say the convention wey supposed to balance diversity don turn into something else entirely.

For those wey no sabi, the NBA dey elect leaders every even year. But this time around the issue is how these tribal groups wey no get official role dey dictate who fit run. Odinkalu mention say the same thing wey cause wahala for Western Region in 1963 , when Privy Council talk say conventions hard to define , that same thing dey play out now for the NBA. If we no careful, the bar go lose independence and young lawyers like us go suffer.

Me wey be caterer I no fit practice law but I know say when institutions weak, everybody feel am. Whether na NBA or NAFDAC, if the people inside no get integrity, the whole system go collapse. Make we watch this election well well
