Ex-Minister Uche Nnaji to face court today over forged certificates
4 months ago
Former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Uche Nnaji will be arraigned today at Federal High Court Abuja by the ICPC over six charges of certificate forgery and corruption. This man collected N29.5 million as salary and allowances while serving as minister using forged UNN degree and NYSC certificates he submitted to President Tinubu and the Senate in 2023. The university vice chancellor confirmed directly that Nnaji never graduated from UNN despite being admitted in 1981.
Count one accuses him of taking N29.5 million as proceeds of unlawful act. Counts three and four say he knowingly gave false information by presenting fake degree and NYSC certificates. Counts five and six say he produced those false documents in 1985 and 1986 and used them as genuine. The man even went to court to block UNN from releasing his records but the VC had already confirmed the forgery. This is not small thing o. How many other people dey sit inside government with forged papers?
