Peter Obi is scared to defend his record

David Umahi has finally called Peter Obi's bluff. The Minister of Works said through his media aide Francis Nwaze on Sunday that Obi refused to debate him because he knows he cannot defend his record as Anambra governor against Umahi's achievements in Ebonyi. And I think Umahi is right.

Obi keeps saying presidential debates are for presidential candidates, but that is just a convenient excuse. The challenge was about comparing two former governors who both served two terms. If your record is strong, why would you be afraid to stand before Nigerians and let them judge? Umahi himself said, "If governance is measured by performance, political ambition should not prevent an honest comparison of records."

I know Obi supporters will say he is above this kind of thing, that Umahi is just looking for attention. But be honest. If you had a solid record, would you not welcome the chance to show it? Or is Obi's Anambra record not as strong as his campaign makes it look? Let's argue this.
