Tinubu keeping Shettima for 2027 — strategic move or political disaster?

So President Tinubu finally confirmed what many of us suspected — he is running with Shettima again in 2027. The announcement came on Friday and since then, the arguments don tire me. Some people say it is a smart move, others say it is a slap for Christian voters.

Political analyst Aminu Rabiu from Kano told DAILY POST that dropping Shettima would have been catastrophic for APC. He said the Muslim-Muslim ticket still has electoral value and will deliver votes in the North and South. But let us be real — how many Christians in the South-South and South-East will vote for a same-faith ticket again? Even some APC Christian members were pushing for a change, but Tinubu ignored them.

And there is the Donald Trump factor too. Trump has been talking about Christian persecution in Nigeria. Some thought Tinubu would pick a Christian to calm that narrative. But he chose continuity instead. So my question is — is this confidence or just stubbornness? Be honest.
