ASUSS warning about WAEC and NECO fees , education is becoming luxury item
4 months ago
See ehn, I just saw where ASUSS come out to talk about WAEC and NECO fee hike. They say education shouldn't be a revenue generating means. I can't help but laugh because this is Nigeria we are talking about. Everything in this country is revenue generating o.
I remember when I wrote WAEC back in Akure, my father was a civil servant and he still managed to pay. Now imagine somebody earning minimum wage trying to register their child for these exams. The thing is, the government will say they are investing in education but all I see is them putting price on our children's future.
My cousin in UI, I dey pay his school fees from my consulting work. Sometimes the money just finish before the month end. How many parents can genuinely afford this wahala? Education is supposed to be the ladder that lifts people out of poverty, not another barrier that keeps them down. Shey you people see am?
