Mr Macaroni is swapping Lagos traffic for the English Civil War, playing Lord Fairfax in Howard Brenton’s historical play 55 Days in London. This is a big leap for a comedian known for his skits and activism, but it raises a question: can Nigerian entertainers successfully cross into serious international theatre without being pigeonholed as just the comic relief?
