Akpabio mocks Oshiomhole over leg massage video on Senate floor
4 months ago
Senate President Godswill Akpabio openly mocked Senator Adams Oshiomhole on the floor of the Senate yesterday over that viral video showing him allegedly massaging a woman's leg on a private jet. The video first surfaced on X on February 3, 2026, and caused a massive stir before Oshiomhole came out to say it was AI-generated.
Akpabio, during Thursday's plenary, said with a slight humour: 'Okay I don't want to go outside what we are doing, I would have asked a question when there was a picture showing one of our senators on a plane massaging the leg of a girl. Senator Oshimole and that your very good friend came to give me security information that we just ignored the massage because we thought it was AI but if you have another evidence, we have a petition before us, we can look if it's not AI.'
The question nobody is asking is this: if the Senate genuinely believed it was AI, why did Oshiomhole need to rush a security briefing to Akpabio to explain himself? And why is Akpabio now publicly reopening the matter with this level of mockery on the floor? Something does not add up, and the Nigerian people deserve to know whether our lawmakers are using AI as an excuse for conduct they do not want to be held accountable for.
