I caught my mother stealing from my savings for years

Since I was 15 I was working. After school I would go to my uncle's shop in Ariaria to help arrange goods, he paid me small small. I saved every kobo inside a wooden box under my bed. By the time I was 18 I had almost 80k saved. I was planning to buy my first phone stock.

One day I came home early and found my mother inside my room. She was holding my box, money scattered on the bed. She said she was just checking if the money was safe. I looked at her face and I knew. For years I wondered why my savings never grew the way I calculated. She had been taking money whenever things got tight. She never told me. I never confronted her properly cos she is my mother and she has done a lot for me. But the trust broke that day.

I still help her now but I keep my money in a bank account she cannot touch. The lesson? Love your parents but protect your peace. Even the people closest to you can have hands that wander when they think nobody is watching.
