My neighbor's generator has been running since 5am and I'm losing my mind

Saturday morning, 5am. I am sleeping peacefully dreaming about nothing important. Then my neighbor's generator starts. Not the small inverter kind. The big one that sounds like a broken airplane. The one that vibrates through my entire wall.

I check my phone. 5:07am. On a Saturday. In this economy, where fuel is almost ₦1,000 per litre, this man is running his generator at 5am on a Saturday. Make it make sense. Is he baking bread? Running a nightclub I don't know about? Or does he simply hate peace?

I am now awake, writing this post instead of sleeping. The generator is still going. I think I need to have a conversation with this man about generator etiquette. Or maybe I should just move to a house with no neighbors. But in Lagos? No evidence.
